Insta / Hello September

Photos by me (Instagram).

I'm back after two weeks of blogging break with the favorite recent snapshots from my Instagram. September is my favorite month, my birthday month and; when it comes to Jeans And Roses Blog; far more inspiring month than the crowded, noisy and hectic August (hence the need for a blog break). Ok, so summer is not yet officially over, but it was over for me once I started piling up the fall issues of my favorite magazines, making a seasonal closet clearout and re-organization, and re-discovering my favorite biker jackets, scarves and ankle boots in the process.  (Check out my tips on how to make a closet clearout here). Now with my closet (and my mind) sorted, a trip to my favorite city booked, a couple of blog design changes made and a few exciting new collaborations and features agreed, it is time to do the happy dance to September!

P.S. If you liked these photos, then make sure to see and follow more on my
Instagram feed! Have a great start of the month!

I heart: printable planners.

Photos by me.

"Organize" is my favorite word and to-do lists are my best friends - the Virgo in me just loves to keep the checklists, analyze what has been achieved and plans what has to be done in the upcoming days, weeks or months!

Well, we always seem to be juggling our work, career, personal life, social life and, oh yes, blogging. I guess many people are unaware of the fact that blogging can get quite overwhelming and that it requires commitment, consistency and some serious planning as well. Luckily, keeping a well-organized planners and/or calendars can do wonders for balancing all the aspects of our lives and I know many of you rely on phone apps. But I am definitely more a "pen and paper" type of person; not only am I always keeping at least two of my notebooks with me; but I am constantly looking for new printable planners, worksheets and checklists! And today I'm sharing the links to my favorite ones - so whether you need to plan your daily or weekly chores, pack for a vacation, brainstorm blog post ideas or keep up with your blog stats, I am sure you will find them worth downloading!

The blog talk: keeping up with Jeans And Roses.

https://www.bloglovin.com/blogs/jeans-roses-11521931

As I'm writing this post, I cannot take my eyes off the number 1000 at the side bar - the number of followers my blog has just gained via Google Friend Connect! I know that, when it comes to blogging, some advise to ignore all the numbers and enjoy blogging for the act of blogging and not for the goal of gaining followers. But I love to keep up with my post numbers, page views and followers, be happy for each one of them and celebrate every milestone. And the number 1000 is quite a milestone in my book. So (hopefully without sounding boring) I have to give huge thanks to you and let you know that every single visit and comment has made this whole blogging journey a lot better!

I've been running Jeans And Roses for a year and a half now and, yes, my enthusiasm and inspiration have been through some ups and downs; but I have always been devoted to bring nothing but the quality content and fashion, beauty, Instagram and lifestyle posts on a regular basis. Today's recap post is all about reminding you, as well as introducing to new visitors and followers, what my blog has been up to and what social media and fashion communities it has been connected to.

The blogging break talk.

Photos by me.

After a while of weighing in, I now definitely feel like both me and my blog could use a short hiatus of around ten days. I know fellow bloggers go off the radar without saying anything, but I always feel the need to explain my absence to the people following and loving my blog.

Taking occasional breaks can actually benefit your blog work and creativity, and the last time I claimed my right for one was in at the end of August. I have been constantly updating my blog ever since  and trying to deliver the quality content despite some ups and downs along the way. But the rough month of January followed by the rainy and gloomy beginning of February has started to take a toll on me. Despite all my best intentions, inspirational Pinterest boards and many blog post ideas, my energy and enthusiasm is completely drained off, and the need of pausing the blog and finding a little time for myself reached a crucial point. And while you are reading this, I am actually in the middle of packing my bags for a week long trip and that is something that will definitely help me recharge my batteries. Besides, the new season will soon come along and hopefully bring a breath of fresh air and a little color to my life. Literally and figuratively.

I will take a little Instagram break too, but I might pop up on Pinterest and Facebook page, so keep an eye on these.

I hope you will understand my decision and will not hold it against me.  Thank you for loving Jeans And Roses Blog
so far and hope you will love it even more after this little break!

The New Year Talk.

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and you are now ready to take on the challenges in 2015! And I wish you all the best in your intentions! I have personally stepped into the New Year without any resolutions and expectations - I'm the type of person who never waits for January 1st or any arbitrary date and who believes that "now" is always the perfect time to make positive changes in your life. And although I made some general plans for the following twelve months, my experience so far has thought me that sometimes it is better to go with the flow and adjust along the way. I have never planned on running a blog in 2014 but that sudden and spontaneous idea turned out to be quite a good one.

And now, here are some things worth mentioning in the first post of 2015.

Blog anniversary: It was on January 5th 2014 that I have hit the "publish" button for the first time. As you can read from that first post, I'd had some blogging experience from the previous years and I quite knew what I was getting into. I knew I needed a creative outlet, I knew what I wanted to do but back then I didn't have quite a clear picture of what I want it all to become. And almost a 365 days, 190 posts, hundreds of studied and applied blogging tips, one blogging break, one re-design and re-vamp later, I am becoming more and more happy with the look and the content of my blog, and everything I have been accomplishing thanks to it. I can sincerely hope you are too.

2014 in review: I took the last days of 2014 to make a round up of all the things that have made the year a little bit more exciting. In case you missed it, you can see my favorite lifestyle, fashion and beauty picks; as well as the scrapbook of some of the photos that have been shared on here on the blog as well as on my Instagram.

Looks recap: Although I have never planned my blog to be focused just on my daily outfits, I have been trying to share as many of my personal style as possible. You can see all the featured looks in one place here. And while I probably couldn't choose my most favorite ones; I know which top three looks you went for: the edgy skull top and plaid shirt combo (here); cardigan jacket paired with faux leather (here) and the mix of oversized knit scarf with again faux leather leggins (here). Well, at least according to my Google Analytics.

Making a scrapbook: Now let's talk making some new memories. I am sure I'll be taking a lot of photos in 2015 and my blog will, once again, be some sort of scrapbook where I'll be keeping and treasuring them. But if you prefer keeping your memories in the more tangible way, then Lily from the Lily Pebbles YouTube Channel might have just a perfect suggestion for you. She has just shared a video showing the scrapbook she kept during the last year and giving all her tips and stationery recommendations. I admire her idea, her creativity and persistence, and I have to admit she intrigued me to try making and keeping a similar one this year. And whether you are a stationery addict like both Lily and me are, and even if you are not, this can become a beautiful thing to devote to in 2015.

For the end, I would love to hear whether you have made any plans and resolutions and
what are you looking for in the new year! Let's keep the feedback alive in 2015 too!

2014 scrapbook.

Couldn't think of a better closure for 2014 than the collage of some of the favorite photos I have been sharing on my blog as well as my Instagram. There is no doubt blog has played a significant part in my life during the last twelve months and has slowly turned from just a creative outlet and hobby to a great source of possibilities, connections and collaborations as well. I might have had some ups and downs along the way, but what has strongly kept me holding on was the incredible interest and feedback my blog has been receiving from you. And I cannot end this year without, once again, giving huge thanks to you and letting you know your every single visit and comment has made this year a little bit better.

While still reflecting on the past year, why not mention something on the personal note too. The 2014 was definitely the year of changes on so many aspects: I have made the healthy diet options and workouts part of my everyday routine; I also made sure to change my surroundings by completely renovating my living area, purging, decluttering and accepting the values of minimalism and the concept of "less is more". And not to forget I hit the major milestone too - while turning the big 30 might sound depressing for me was quite the contrary, and it gave me such a liberating and empowering feeling. All in all, I feel like 2014 has set a great foundation and gave me a lot of reasons to look forward to 2015.

Right now I'm more than happy to welcome and celebrate the new year with my blog's readers -
I am wishing you all you all joy, happiness and success! And I'm hoping you'll be
going back to Jeans And Roses in the months to come!
